It’s probably one of the best, if not the best solo Beatles album out there, but I would be lying to you if I said I didn’t have difficulty finishing it sometimes in one go.Nicknamed "the Quiet Beatle" at the height of Beatlemania, George Harrison did indeed seem somewhat reserved compared to the other members of the Fab Four. It really just becomes an argument of how much you expose people to initially and I really do think you can do so much more by holding back for multiple releases. those are the ones I’d axe without question, maybe most of the instrumental jams total. The alternate version of Isn’t It A Pity, My Sweet Lord in retrospect because of the subconscious plagiarism, Johnny’s Birthday, Maybe Plug Me In and or Thank You for Pepperoni for sure. I even have difficulty listening to Physical Graffiti sometimes, even though it’s a top tier Zeppelin album for me, for the same reason. I just can’t see the need to dump all your good material in one go, like as if he was afraid he was going to get to do just one album or that people would lose interest after the first solo release, if the latter were a real fear, then the dumping would make sense, but I don’t really have a problem with the album other than it feels like a lot for one release. That being said, as much as I loved All Things Must Pass, I really think Harrison would have done himself a favor releasing two separate or even 3 separate albums (I’m not sure how many songs there are total, but there’s a lot). I’m fusing together a criticism Lennon made (I think it was an early on spiteful one about how the album could have been shorter, or just a joke) and the two other ridiculous and of course untrue sentiments about Yoko taking all the blame and Paul being dead. All the songs flow well together and I can listen to it all day and not get tired of itĪnd of course The Traveling Wilburys were amazing. 2002 Brainwashed was his final album and it is a masterpiece. Last #1 hit song by an ex Beatle.ĥ stars. 1982 Gone Troppo was a bomb and he gave no promotion for it. He was forced to change the songs on the album and imo left the better ones off. His best since Material WorldĢ in England was a mess. He was partying too much and probably didn't careģ 1/2 stars.1976 33 1/3 more upbeat album with 2 leftover songs from ATMP on it.Ĥ stars.1979 George Harrison is another fine album. The songs aren't necessarily bad but the production is.

1975 Extra Texture might be his worse album. Had vocal issues probably should have waited a year on this. Probably a top 5 all time album for me.Ĥ stars.1973 Living in the Material World is more laid back and a bit somber but I really love it.ģ stars. Which is fine but I wish he made a few albums in the 90s.ĥ stars.1970 All Things Must Pass was the best ex Beatles solo album. If he poured his passion into his music instead of being a gardner, I think he would have been more productive. John obviously had his career cut short but I like his solo stuff for the most part.īut George is the one I can listen to over and over and not get bored with for some reason. Some good stuff but too many fillers on his albums, except Band on the Run. I just can't get into Paul for the most part.

George is my favorite ex Beatle as far as their solo work.
